METHODS FOR LUCID DREAMING
Ok, so you’re convinced that conscious dreaming is possible and that it has benefits, but how do you go about having them? Over the years, dream researchers have come up with a number of techniques that can aid an individual to experience lucid dreams.
DREAM RECALL – this is often considered the first step to become a lucid dreamer, the ability to recall your dreams. By keeping a dream journal, your brain becomes better at remembering what you have dreamt.
MNEMONIC INDUCT ION OF LUCID DREAM – this technique (MILD) was developed by LaBerge and involves setting an intention before you go to sleep and training yourself to look for dream signs when you are asleep.
WAKE-BACK-TO-BED – this method dictates that you go to bed and sleep for five or six hours, then you wake yourself, focus on lucid dreaming and go back to sleep.
CYCLE ADJUSTMENT TECHNIQUE – developed by Daniel Love, this method CAT requires adjusting your usual sleep pattern so that you wake up earlier and then fall back to sleep maximising on your early morning REM sleep.
